In 2022, Navy Commander Paulo Jorge de Almeida Guerreiro called me and asked:

"You know how to speak English, right?" I answered, "Check."

"Do you talk about yourself and how the dive marked you, no problem?" I replied, "I confirm."

"Are you a diver?" I answered, "To the bone."

This was the basis for me to be contacted by the creator and organizer of the event, Arlindo Serrão, which took place in Troia, from October 6th to 8th, with 24 speakers, from 13 countries and where the ''cream'' of diving was gathered, me being the sardine in the middle of the sharks.

My presentation was scheduled for October 8th, after lunch, the infamous 2 pm. Infamous, because, for me, they will remain on my wall of fame, the walk of the illustrious, as the distance to the cafeteria was so great that it had to be my father who took me in the wheelchair to make sure I was not late.

The ascent to the stage was another cockle. The ramp was so steep that if it weren't for the help of Commander Paulo Jorge de Almeida Guerreiro, it wouldn't have happened.

My panelist talked about diving in submersibles to unimaginable depths and what they discover there of life forms never seen before. And my colleague talked about dives in Antarctica and the death of a colleague because the equipment froze. Why risk it, you ask? Because if a boat sinks, a research team gets stuck, or there is a natural disaster, it is urgent to improve rescue manoeuvres and logistics.

It was an unforgettable experience, here is the link to the page, where you can find the 2022 edition in the "PRIVIOUS EDITIONS" tab.

In TedTalk it is possible to understand, so I think, the passion that it is for me to immerse myself and the way others allow me to live the same!
